Tips to Measure Speedo Sizes

No matter where you like to swim, a well-fitted Speedo swim suit can ensure that you have secure coverage and are able to move around in the water without worrying that your suit is going to fall off. Measuring your body for a Speedo is essential, because even though you may think you are a certain size already, you might need a smaller or larger swimsuit to feel comfortable. If you plan to purchase a Speedo online, taking your measurements will help you find the best fitting suit.

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, and write down the measurements. If you plan on purchasing a full-body Speedo suit, you will need to take your chest measurements.

Place the measuring tape around the waist. Make sure the tape is snug around the waist, but not too tight. Write down your measurements on the paper.

Hold one end of the measuring tape at one shoulder, and pass the other end of the tape through the legs. Match up the tape with the open end on your shoulder, and write down your torso measurement.

Place the tape around the hip bone, and write down the measurements. If you plan on purchasing Speedo briefs, this is the only measurement that you will need since they are sized based on hip measurements.

Refer to a size chart when you purchase a Speedo online. Match up your measurements to the chart, and choose the size that best fits your measurements.

Women
Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of the bust. Make sure the tape is secure, but not too tight so you get an accurate measurement. Write down the measurements.

Measure the circumference of the waist. Place the measuring tape around the natural part of the waist, near the belly button. Write down these measurements.

Place the measuring tape around your hipbone. Make sure your feet are straight, with the heels together and write down the measurements.

Determine the length of your torso by placing one end of the measuring tape at one shoulder, and pass the tape through the legs. Bring the tape back up to the shoulder, and see how many inches the torso is.

Compare your measurements to that of the sizing chart to determine the best size Speedo for you.
