Track Sent Email in Yahoo

Email is a great thing. You can communicate with anyone anywhere in the world by simply logging into your email account. However, sometimes it can also be bad if you don't pay proper attention to who is on an email list and you send out a sensitive email. Keeping track of sent emails can help keep you in the clear and can also tell you what you have written and who you have sent email to as well.

Log in to your Yahoo email account like you normally would. Once you log in you will be given several different options throughout the page. On the left hand column you will see several links to choose from.

Select the section titled "Folders" and click on the link that says "Sent." Once this opens you will be able to see emails that you have sent. You can delete these or hold on to them, but I would advise holding on to them in case you need them at a later time should the information you sent be needed.

Scroll through and select the message that you want to track. Once you click on the message it will open up and looks just like any other message you may have sent. At the top of the screen you will see your name as the sender and all of the names and email addresses you have sent that particular message to. Look through the names to see if there is a name in there that you may have inadvertently sent an email to. If you cannot find the email in question, then check out other folders in your email account.

Navigate back to the left hand column titled "Folders." Click on the link labeled "Drafts" to see drafts of emails that you created. This does not necessarily mean that you have sent them, all this means is that you created an email and saved it to come back to at a later time. Sometimes if you are creating an email and lose your Internet connection the system may automatically save the email as a draft. Check this folder to see if the email you thought you may have sent actually got saved as a draft.

Click on the link in the "Folders" section that says "Trash." If you cannot find a sent email anywhere else check this folder. If you accidentally deleted a sent message it will wind up in your trash. Scroll through and check the emails in this folder to see if the email you are looking for is here. If it is you can move it out of the trash and send it back to another folder such as the "Sent" folder. Just click on the box to the left of the message to mark it and click on the button above marked "Move" and move it to the folder you want it sent to.
