Delete Google Email Address

Google offers many products for its users, including an email account, personalized search settings and a calendar. If you want to delete your Google email address, also known as Gmail, it takes little time to do so. You only need to access your account settings to get started. After you submit the request to delete your email, your account will be closed within two business days.

Point your Internet browser to Google. When the Google Web page opens, click the "Settings" link located at the top, right-hand corner of the page. A window will pop up with two settings options you can choose from.

Select "Google Account settings" from the window with the settings options. You will be directed to a page that has information about all of your Google accounts, including your email account.

Look to the section labeled "My products" on the Google accounts page. Click the "Edit" link beside "My products." A new page will open with options for removing Google accounts.

Look to the section labeled "Delete a Product." You can delete the account for any Google products here, including Gmail.

Click the "Remove Gmail permanently" link. A new page will open asking you to confirm your request.

Check the box next to "Yes, I want to permanently delete user@gmail.com."

Enter your password in the form next to "Current Password" and click "Remove Gmail." Your Google email address will be deleted within two business days.
