Best Way to Make a Teen Blog

In addition to such microblogging platforms as Twitter, there are currently millions of regular blogs available for reading on the Internet. Some people create blogs in order to generate revenue; others create blogs so that they have a place to voice their opinions. Whatever the case may be, setting up a blog has grown easier than it was a decade ago, with such platforms as Wordpress practically setting it up for you. If you want to set up a teen blog, all you need is Internet access and a bit of know-how.
  1. Step 1

Decide whether you would like to use a free platform such as Wordpress' free option or Blogger (Google's free blog platform), or whether you'd like to purchase a domain. Keep in mind that owning a domain gives you, as the webmaster, a lot more control over such features as design and URLs.
  2. Step 2

Choose a name for your blog. Some will say that the name makes a big difference when it comes to search engine optimization, the process of getting your website to rank in the search engines (such as Google) in order to expand your blog's web presence. Ultimately, if your blog offers interesting-enough content and you interact enough with other bloggers and the general webasphere, you'll be okay.
  3. Step 3

Set up your blog. If you decide on a free blog, go to either blogger.com or wordpress.org. Blogger will require you to have a Gmail account or to set one up. It will be connected with your blog, and signing into your Gmail account means that you will be automatically signed into your Blogger account.
If you decide to set up a paid blog, Wordpress is one of the most user-friendly blogging platforms available. Instead of Wordpress.org, go to Wordpress.com to set up your blog. Enter you blog's title (the name that you chose in Step 2), and fill out the remaining fields required.
Bear in mind that there is a charge for using Wordpress.com, so have a credit card handy.
  4. Step 4

Set up hosting. Wordpress has a list of fecommended hosting providers. Wordpress does have some requirements for hosting, so it's advisable to choose one of them.
  5. Step 5

Brainstorm on your topic using a good old-fashioned pen and paper. Write down any and every idea that comes into your head. Decide which one of them you would like to write about first and prioritize the rest.
  6. Step 6

Change your blog's design. Wordpress offers a variety of themes for free so you don't have to design your own theme or pay someone to design a theme. The theme will incorporate the background colors, images, font and text colors that you want. This is a teen blog, so keep it fun and lively.
  7. Step 7

Write your first post. Use your own voice. Your blog isn't formal; it is meant to express your opinions and your ideas. If you aren't writing what you know and feel, it will translate into the tone and content of your blog. When you're satisfied with the post, you can either publish it or save it.
