The microblogging platform Tumblr provides a variety of tools for creating, cataloging and sharing your blog posts, including a method for categorizing your posts. Referred to as tags, categories created for your blog posts allow other users on Tumblr to see your posts using search queries submitted to the site. Tumblr does not provide a way to create tags without assigning them to blog posts, so in order to create a category, you will first need to figure out which of your posts you want to associate with the category.
Step 1
Go online to Tumblr.com, type the email address and password associated with your Tumblr account in the corresponding text fields and press “Enter.”Step 2
Click the name of the blog you want to create categories for in the top menu. The dashboard and feed associated with your blog appears.Step 3
Click “Launch Mass Post Editor” in the right side bar.Step 4
Click the blog posts you want to create categories for in the menu and click “Add Tags.”Step 5
Type the category you want to create for the blog posts in the text field and click “Add Tags.” Separate category names with commas to create more than one category for your Tumblr blog.
