Tumblr is a social media platform which lets you maintain a basic online journal called a tumbleog -- somewhere between a full-length journal and a migroblog. A tumbleog is not as fully-featured as traditional blogging sites but it offers you more scope than many microblogging services, such as Twitter with its text-only restriction and 140 character limits. A tumbleog lets you get the hang of online journalling via a no-frills platform that's easy to master. Tumblr is also a good choice for mobile blogging since the lightweight site works well on mobile devices.
- Launch your browser and navigate to tumblr.com.
- Left-click on the link that says "Sign Up."
- Enter a valid email address and a strong password in the appropriate fields. Enter a memorable name for the URL; this could be your own name, name of your company, or something connected with your work or hobbies
- Open your email and look for the validation message from Tumblr. Open the message when it arrives and follow the instructions to validate your Tumblr account.
- Go to the Tumblr login page. Sign in using your email address and password. You are now ready to begin blogging with Tumblr.
