How to Change Facebook Background

You can't change the background on your Facebook profile in such a way that other users will see it. However, you can change the look of Facebook in your own browser using styles from the website Userstyles.org. Themes installed from this website use externally-hosted images and are installed to your browser as either part of the add-on Stylish or as a user script. If you want to change only the background of Facebook without modifying other elements, you can use Stylish to write a new style that changes only the background element to an image you select.

Use Existing Theme
Navigate to userstyles.org and find a Facebook theme that works for you. Most themes modify the entire look of your website with custom coloring and websites, while others tweak the shape and design the of the page. Click a theme name to open the theme page.

Click your browser from the drop-down menu in the module on the right side of the theme page. Userstyles.org supports Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera. If you want to use Stylish to manage and edit themes, click the "Stylish" link to install it on your browser, and then click "Install with Stylish." If you just want to install the theme as-is, Firefox, Chrome and Opera support installing the individual file as either a user script, a JavaScript file or a CSS file, depending on the browser.

Authorize the installation of the theme on your browser, and go to Facebook to see the changes.

Background-Only Style
Install and open Stylish in your browser; Stylish as an add-on is only available for Firefox and Chrome. Chrome users can click the button in the browser, click "Manage Installed Styles" and then "Write New Style." Firefox users can go to Add-Ons Manager and select "User Styles" and then "Write New Style." Themes use CSS to make changes to the website, so as long as you understand CSS, you shouldn't have a problem with user styles.

In the theme text box, enter this:

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document url-prefix('http://www.facebook.com/'){
