Set Someone Else's Picture as My Profile Picture

Sometimes a picture you took isn't the best choice for your Facebook profile picture. A friend, for example, may have taken a funny, striking or otherwise excellent picture of you that would make a good profile picture. Before you become familiar with how Facebook works, it may seem like you need to convince your friend to email you this picture so you can select it from your own computer. However, this is not necessary.

Sign in to the Facebook account on which you want to add the new profile picture.

Navigate to the friend's picture in question. If you are not already tagged in this photo, tag yourself by clicking the "Tag This Photo" link and following the prompts.

Scroll down below the picture. You should see a list of options.

Click "Make Profile Picture" in this list. This may take you to another page displaying the picture again. If so, click "Make Profile Picture" again.

Crop the photo as you wish. When you are finished, click the blue "Done Cropping" button to save the image as your profile picture.
