Facebook offers a multitude of different ways for you to share information with your friends, from uploading videos and photos to posting status updates and leaving profile comments. Facebook Chat, a Web-based instant messenger, or IM, is one of the most recently added features for talking to friends. If you prefer not to use it, you can disable it easily in a few clicks.
