Make Facebook Profile Unsearchable

Facebook has swiftly become a social networking website allowing millions of people to connect with new and old friends. If you have a small Facebook network comprised of just close friends and family, you may want to avoid having your profile appear in random Facebook searches. This will prevent search engines and Facebook users that are not your friends from indexing and searching for your profile. Facebook provides privacy settings that allow you to quickly alter who can search for you on Facebook.

Facebook offers privacy settings to prevent users from viewing your profile.Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password.

Click the "Account" link at the top right of the Facebook page. Click "Privacy Settings" from the menu.

Click on the "View Settings" link under the "Connecting on Facebook" heading.

Locate the section named "Search for you on Facebook." Click the drop-down box on the right and click the "Friends Only" option. This will make your profile unsearchable to anyone who's not already your friend.
