Recommend Article on Facebook

When you read something interesting on the Web, you may want to share it with your friends on Facebook. Recommending an article on the social-networking website helps spread the word about breaking news or a topic you deem important. Posting a link and synopsis of an article closely mirrors creating a status update. Once the article link posts, Facebook automatically includes the first sentence or two from the article, making the posting process take just a few seconds. Just like a status update, friends can comment on and "Like" the articles you recommend on Facebook.

You can share articles that interest you with your Facebook friends.Log into your Facebook account using your email address and password.

Open another Internet browser page. Navigate to the website with the article you want to share. Locate the article on the website.

Click the Web page URL in the browser's address bar, at the top of the page. Press "Ctrl+C" to copy the address.

Go back to your Facebook wall page. Look for the word "Link" at the top of the page.

Click "Link." Place your mouse in the new text box that starts with "http" and press "Ctrl+V" to paste the URL address of the article you want to recommend.

Click the "Attach" button to the right of the pasted URL.

Preview the post. Edit the text by clicking it. You can delete or add more text before the post goes live on Facebook.

Remove the auto-posted image by clicking the "No Thumbnail" option just below the article excerpt, if desired. You can add a personal comment about the article by clicking the text box labeled "Say something about this link..." and typing a message.

Click the "Share" button to recommend the article and make it live on Facebook.
