Google Analytics is a free service that measures traffic on your websites, letting you view reports on how long people stay on your site and what pages they visit. After you activate Google Analytics on your Google or Gmail account, you receive a small piece of JavaScript code that installs the service on your website. One way to install Google Analytics is to add the code to your HTML pages using the Dreamweaver program.
Open a Web browser and go to Google.com/analytics.
Click on the "Access Analytics" button and log in with your Google or Gmail credentials.
Press the "Sign Up" button on the left side of the page.
Fill in your website's URL address, country and time zone in the appropriate fields, then choose a name for your Google Analytics account and press "Continue."
Enter your last name, first name, phone number and country, then press "Continue" again.
Check the box to agree to the service's terms and conditions, then press "Create New Account."
Highlight all of the JavaScript code in the large text box, go to the "Edit" menu in your browser and choose the "Copy" command.
Launch the Dreamweaver application and open the page in which you want to install Google Analytics.
Click on the "Code" button in the top toolbar to enter Code View.
Place your text cursor just before the "</body>" tag near the end of the HTML code.
Open the "Edit" menu and select "Paste."
