When using Google's search engine to browse the World Wide Web, Google and other websites leave cookies on your computer's hard drive. These cookies help Google and the websites that place the cookies in your system to identify you and associate your search activities to your Gmail account, and they help Google to learn more about your Internet usage patterns. All the data gathered through cookies stays in Google's server; therefore, many Internet users opt to delete Google cookies for privacy purposes. Fortunately, this task can be accomplished swiftly through your Internet browser's Tools menu.
Delete Google Cookies Using Internet Explorer
Launch Internet Explorer, and click on the "Tools" menu tab displayed on the upper left side of the browser's window.
Select the "Internet Options" preference from the drop-down menu by clicking on it. Click the "General" tab displayed on the upper left side of the Internet Options window. Generally, the tab is already selected when you open the Internet Options window.
Locate the heading that says "Temporary Internet Files," and click on the "Delete Cookies" tab. Click "OK" when asked "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder?" Then click "OK" again to exit.
Delete Google Cookies Using Mozilla Firefox
Launch Firefox, and click on the "Tools" menu tab displayed on the upper left side of the browser's window.
Click on the "Options" preference displayed at the bottom of the drop-down menu, and click on the "Privacy" option displayed with an icon that looks like a mask. Select "Cookies," and then click on "Show Cookies."
Scroll through the list of cookies and click on the "Google.com" cookie to select it. Click on the "Remove Cookie" tab, and click on "OK" to exit. If you want to remove all the cookies in your Firefox browser, simply click on the "Remove All Cookies" tab.
