Delete All Old Emails

Old messages can create clutter in your email inbox. Gmail enables you to archive received and sent messages that you no longer need but are not ready to delete yet. Archiving a message moves it to the All Mail folder. You can permanently delete archived messages from the All Mail folder at any time. Doing so requires first moving all archived messages from All Mail to the Trash folder and then permanently deleting all Trash messages.

Open your Gmail inbox and click “All Mail.” If you do not see this link, click “More” within the Labels list in the sidebar to reveal the “All Mail” link.

Click the “Select” button and select “All” from the drop-down menu. Gmail displays the message “All [number of messages] Conversations on This Page Are Selected. Select All [number of messages] Conversations in All Mail” in the yellow area above your list of messages.

Click the “Select All [number of messages] Conversations in All Mail” link to select all archived messages.

Click the “Delete” button to move all archived messages to the Trash folder.

Click the “Trash” link within the Labels list. Click the “Select” button and select “All” from the drop-down menu. Gmail displays the message “All [number of messages] Conversations on This Page Are Selected. Select All [number of messages] Conversations in Trash.”

Click the “Select All [number of messages] Conversations in Trash” link.

Click the “Delete Forever” button to permanently delete all of your Gmail messages.
