Gmail's Web interface can be customized in a variety of ways, and that extends to the size of the text on screen and the spacing between messages. Controls built into your Web browser can also be used to change the font size used by Gmail or switch to a full-screen mode. Other Gmail configuration options enable you to change the Web app's themes and colors and the amount of storage space available to you in your Gmail account.
Open the Gmail site in your default Web browser and log in using your Google Account credentials if prompted.
Click the black cog icon on the right to reveal the "Settings" drop-down menu. Choose "Comfortable," "Cozy" or "Compact" to change the spacing between the conversation threads.
Hold down "Ctrl" and tap the "+" key to zoom into the page and make the text larger. Hold "Ctrl" and tap "-" to zoom back out.
Tap "F11" to switch to full-screen mode, which hides the browser and operating system interface to leave more room for Gmail. Press "F11" again to exit full-screen mode.
