The Dell Streak is an Android-powered smartphone capable of running a variety of applications, such as the Gmail email app. With the Gmail app, Streak users can check, send, and delete email. Although numerous Streak users are satisfied with the Gmail app, some prefer to use the built-in Streak email application instead. Removing the Gmail app from your Streak requires using the Market app to uninstall the application.
Exit the Gmail app if you currently have it open.
Tap the "Market" app icon.
Press the "Menu" button on your Streak. Tap "My Apps."
Scroll down and tap "Gmail."
Touch the "Uninstall" icon at the top right of the details page that appears.
Tap "OK" when asked if you are sure that you want to remove the Gmail app from your Dell Streak.
