Embed Video & Audio in Email

Email communication is one of the most popular ways to share information on the Internet. As emails come from a private account, you can send important information without worrying about the security of your documents. However, when it comes to certain features, such as graphics and video, standard email accounts have yet to reach the capabilities of HTML capabilities of websites. But you can embed video and audio into an email as an icon.

Download Thunderbird, an email client provided free through Mozilla. Follow the installation prompts to add a desktop shortcut and perform the standard installation.

Open Thunderbird and choose to start a new mail message. Type in your subject and the recipient's email address. Next, visit the video sharing website where the video you want is located.

Copy the embed code provided in the "Share Video" section of the browser. This area is usually in the bottom right corner of the video. Close your web browser.

Click "Insert" from the main menu bar of Thunderbird, then click HTML. A small HTML dialog box will appear. Paste the embed code into this dialog box by clicking "CTRL" and "V." Click "Insert" to close the dialog box.

Send your email. When the recipient opens the email, they will be able to view and listen to your video from their email window.

Open your desktop email client. Start a new message.

Click "Insert" from the main menu bar and select "Object."

Choose to Browse for your "Object." Select the location of the video in your personal files and click "Open." An icon will appear in your email window.

Send your message. When recipients view the email, they will be able to click the icon and view your video in their computer's media center.
