How to Permanently Delete Your Emails

Whether you are using Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo email, you are not spared from receiving junk mail. When you go to delete junk mail or old messages, the process is almost same across email hosts. However, just because you delete the message does not mean it has been permanently deleted. In order to fully remove a message, users have to complete a few extra steps to delete old email.

Gmail
Log in to your email account. Enter both your username and password.

Select a message you wish to delete by clicking on the check box. The message will highlight to indicate that you have selected it.

Select "Delete." Select the "Trash" folder. Select all the emails you want to permanently delete. A message will appear asking you if you wish to permanently delete the files. Click "Delete forever."

Hotmail
Log in to your Hotmail account. Enter both your username and password.

Select an email you wish to delete by clicking the check box. Select "Delete."

Click "Folders." Scroll down and select "Deleted." Select the emails you wish to permanently delete by clicking the check box. Select "Empty" to delete.

Yahoo
Log into your Yahoo account. Enter both your username and password.

Select an email you wish to delete by clicking the check box. Select "Delete" at the top left corner.

Select the "Trash" folder. Select the emails you wish to permanently delete by clicking the check box. Select "Delete" to permanently delete.
