Mail Attachments Not Playing Media

Email attachments offer a convenient solution for transferring files online, but the method can be complicated with file size limits. Since media files are relatively larger in size than documents or images, problems can arise when attaching and opening them. When you have difficulty accessing attached media files, there are a few things you can check to address the issue.

Transfer
It is possible that the media was not completely uploaded to the mail service before the file was attached to your message. When data transfer is incomplete, the file may become corrupted or only partially readable.

Programs
If a downloaded attachment fails to open, there is a chance that you do not have a compatible program installed on your system. Any digital audio and video should be opened in a media player application that supports its file format.

File Types
The attached file may be in a format that does not support any media at all. The contents of the file may actually be a document, image or code. To verify that the attached file should contain media, you should look up the file extension and make sure it is associated with a digital media format.
