Telephone & Data Systems, Inc. (TDS) provides Internet, entertainment and voice services. TDS also provides email services to its paying accountants. You can connect and set up your TDS email account with many other popular email services, such as Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010, Window Mail, Outlook Express and Apple Mail 3.0. After configuring your Microsoft Outlook with TDS email account, you will be able to check your TDS email messages with Microsoft Outlook.
Click the "Start" button and then click "All Programs." Click "Microsoft Outlook" under "Microsoft Office." Click the "Tools" tab at the top of your screen. Click "Account Settings" and then under the "Email" tab, click "New." For Microsoft Outlook 2010, click the "File" tab and then "Add Account." Click the box that says, "Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types" and then click "Next."
Choose your email service by clicking the "Internet Email Service" option, then click "Next." Type in all your user information and set "Account Type" as "POP3." In the "Incoming Mail Server" field, type "pop.gmail.com." and in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field, input "smtp.gmail.com." After you're done, click "More Settings" and then "Outgoing Server."
Click the box that says, "My Outgoing Server SMTP Requires Authentication." Under the "Advance" tab, check the box that states, "This Server Requires An Encrypted Connection (SSL)."
Input 587 in the "Incoming Server (POP3)" box, and under that box, click the drop-down box to select "TLS." Click "OK." Click "Test Account Settings." Once you're done testing your settings to see if it's correct, click the "Next" button and then "Finish."
