You can send a text message to someone, or yourself, with Cricket cell phone service from your computer using email. By using Cricket's email suffix, the email gets forwarded to the phone and appears as a text. Just remember to keep the email short because most phones can only contain 160 characters or less in one message.
Open your email account on the web or in your email program.
Click "New" or "Compose" to start a blank email.
Type the area code and phone number of the recipient, and then "@sms.mycricket.com."
Give the email a subject.
Enter the message that you want to send in the body of the email.
Click "Send" and the person will receive the email as a text message.
