Many things can go wrong with an email. The easiest mistake to make - and the easiest thing to fix - is to have the email format incorrect. Validating an email address format means making sure that all of the parts of the email address are correct. If you have all of the right parts to your email address, chances are good that your mail will get where you intend it to.
Check to see that the recipient's email handle is listed first. If you know their email handle is their first name and the year of their birth, make sure that it is there. You might not be sure exactly what their particular email address is, but to be a valid email address format, the person's handle must appear first, e.g. "Tommy1957".
Look for the "@" symbol directly after the email handle. For example, the email address should begin with "Tommy1957@".
Read the portion direction after the @ symbol and make sure it is the correct name of an email server. If you aren't sure that it is correct, type it into a search bar to find out whether it is a real email server. In our example, the email address is now "Tommy1957@hotmail".
Read the end of the email address and insure that there is a .com, .net, or .org after the name of the email server. It should match with the server itself --- for instance, Hotmail's domain is a .com website address --- so an associated valid email address would read "Tommy1957@hotmail.com".
