How to Stop email Newsletters

Although newsletters can be interesting and relevant to your interests, occasionally they can become irritating and distracting. Therefore it's often desirable to keep these emails from reaching your inbox; fortunately there are a number of ways to do this, and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes for you to stop receiving the messages.

Opt-out Link
Open the email containing the newsletter.

Scroll to the bottom of the email. Typically there will be an option which reads "Click here if you no longer wish to receive this newsletter".

Select the option. This should take you to a website which will ask you to enter your email address to be removed from its system. Once you do so, the newsletter should stop; if not, consider the methods outlined below.

Emailing the Sender
Navigate to the company or website which produces the newsletter.

Find a "contact us" section, or an area on the website where employee email addresses are listed.

Compose an email to the company requesting to be removed from the newsletter mailing list. Send this message to more than one employee if you do not get a reply from the first employee or if she does not remove you from the list.

Block Messages
Block the sender if the other options fail. Open your email program or online email service.

Open the newsletter.

Click the option which reads "block email from this sender."
