Many email providers allow users to send files through email for free. But the catch is that there is usually a very small file size limit. Here is a way to send entire folders through email using tools loaded with Windows XP and free web services. YouSendIt will send up to 100 MB through email for free, while Pando will send up to 1 GB for free.
Right-click on the folder, and select "Send To," and then click on "Compressed (Zipped) Folder" to compress the folder into a single ZIP file.
Use YouSendIt to send up to 100 MB through email for free. Go to the YouSendIt site, and fill out the "To" and "From" boxes with the correct email addresses, then click the "Select File" button, and choose the zipped folder. Click the "Send It" button to send the email.
Use Pando to send up to 1 GB of data through email for free. Download and install Pando, then run Pando, and click the "Share New" button in the top left corner of the screen, and select "Email." Fill out the "To" field with the recipient's email address. To add a folder, either click the "Browse" button, or just drag and drop a folder from the hard drive into the "Files & Folders" area of Pando. Type a name for the Pando package in the "Package Name" box. Then enter a subject and message for the email. Click on the "Passage Name" link to add a description for the files contained in the package. This will be the first thing that the recipient sees when the email appears in her inbox. Click the "Send" button in the upper left corner of the screen to send the message.
