Convert Yahoo! Email to HTML

Adding a few small snippets of HTML code to your Yahoo! emails can add pizazz to your emails and makes them more pleasing to the eye. A touch of bold here and an italicized comment there can convey tone and emotion that's just not available in plain text messages. You can't compose Yahoo! mail in direct HTML, but you can add formatting and convert an outgoing message to HTML by taking advantage of the service's "Rich Text" option. The code behind the scenes will be full HTML -- Yahoo! just hides it behind a simple interface. Additionally, you can convert a message in your Yahoo! inbox into HTML with the Firefox Web browser.

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.

Click "New" to begin composing a new message.

Click the blue "Plain Text" option to the right of the subject line. The words switch to "Rich Text," which indicate you're composing in HTML mode. If you see the words "Rich Text" to the right of the subject line when you begin composing the message, you're already working in HTML mode.

Highlight words and use the formatting options in the now-visible rich text options bar to add HTML features to your message.

Launch Mozilla's Firefox Web browser and navigate to the Yahoo! Mail website. Log in with your Yahoo! ID.

Open your inbox and click on the message you'd like to convert to HTML. The email appears in the main pane.

Highlight the contents of the email, but not anything else on the page.

Right-click on the highlighted email and click "View Selection Source." The HTML source code for the email appears in a new window. If the email utilizes any other computer languages, such as CSS, it will also appear in the window.
