Import CSV File into Yahoo

The comma-separated values (CSV) format is a common file type used in transferring address book data from one platform to another. Also referred to as comma delimited, many email providers, including Yahoo Mail, allow users to import their contacts using this file format. Using a CSV file to import your contacts into your Yahoo account can save you a lot of time, as it takes away the need to create new address book entries. Yahoo’s “Import” tool facilitates this process.

Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account, click “Contacts” and then select “Import” from the “Tools” drop-down menu.

Click “Others” and then check the “A desktop email program (Outlook, AppleMail, etc...)” check box.

Select the “Choose file” button, select the CSV file from your computer, agree to the terms and conditions, and then click “Continue.”

Check the “Select All” check box located under the addresses displayed and then click “Import.”

Check the “Select All” check box if you would like Yahoo to notify your contacts of your new address and then select “Finish; leave the check box unchecked if you simply want to import your contacts. You have successfully a CSV file into your Yahoo! Mail account.
