Send Pictures to Fone Through Yahoo

Multimedia messaging is a feature that most cell phones offer. Multimedia messaging, or MMS, means you are able to send and receive pictures, sounds and video through your cell phone. Fortunately, if you need to quickly get a picture from your computer to a cell phone, you can use your Yahoo email account to send the picture via MMS. It works just like if you were to send an email to another email account.

Check with the recipient to find out information on his plan (unless you are sending pictures to your own phone; in that case, verify the details on your own plan). See if the recipient will be charged extra fees for receiving a message from email. Also, ensure the person is either able to receive email forwarded to his phone, or has MMS.

Open Yahoo in your web browser and log in to your account.

Start a new email by hitting "New."

Type the recipient's cell phone number, including area code, into the "To" line.

Enter the MMS email suffix into the "To" line following the phone number.

Major wireless provider MMS suffixes:

Verizon/Alltel: @vzwpix.com
AT&T/Cingular: @mms.att.com
Sprint/Nextel: @messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile: @tmomail.net
Virgin: @vmobl.net
Boost: @myboostmobile.com

If the recipient can receive email on his phone, just type his email address in the "To" line.

Give the message a subject and type a brief message into the body of the email, if you wish.

Click "Attach" and attach the picture you want to send to the email. Yahoo has the ability to show pictures within an email, but images may not show up on the recipient's phone. To be safe, both attach the picture and put it in the body of the email.

Click "Send" to send the message.
