How to Make Fun Playing Card Holders

Holding playing cards can be difficult for children or people with small hands. The answer is making a playing card holder that will hold cards in a fanned-out position. These projects are easy enough for children to make. These holders are made from very inexpensive materials, such as plastic lids from small margarine containers, and can be decorated to suit the user.

Plastic Lid Holder
Step 1
Cut the plastic lid in half. Make sure that the lids are around 2 1/2 to 3 inches when cut in half. This will ensure that the user will be able to see the tops of the playing cards.

Step 2
Put the two smooth sides facing each other with the straight edges together.

Step 3
Staple the straight edges together with a line of staples. Make sure that the staples are very close to the edge of the plastic. The card holder should now look almost like a mouth.

Step 4
Decorate your card holder.

Step 5
Use your card holder by putting cards between the plastic sides and fanning them. Pinch either side of the card holder to keep the cards in place.

Cardboard Holder
Step 1

Cut a piece of cardboard to three inches by five inches.

Step 2
Cut slits in the cardboard every centimeter. Make sure that the slits end 1/3 of an inch from the edge of the cardboard.

Step 3
Use the holder by placing the cards' left edges into the slits of the holder. This will hold the cards and keep them fanned.
